IL6 and neoplasm: TAMCs, such as tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs), are the major immune-suppressive component of TME, as they secrete various immune-regulatory factors, such as IL-6 and TGF-β, and inhibit activation, viability, and tumoral-infiltration of T-cells, thus leading to ICB resistance and poor prognosis21–23.
