One study found that the activity of PLA2 was decreased by 35–53% in the parietal and temporal cortices of AD patients; on the contrary, the activities of glycerophosphocholine phosphodiesterase and lysophospholipid acyltransferase, which can promote the synthesis of phospholipids, increased by about 50–70% in AD brain area [30]. This evidence concerns the gene AGPAT1 and Alzheimer disease.
