On the contrary, the association of low white blood cells count and higher CD4+ T cells in peripheral blood with GGO may reflect a GL-ILD-related perturbation in leukocytes trafficking, with preferential accumulation of CD4+ T cells in the lungs airways [34] and parenchima [35], and a possible expansion of memory CD4+ T cells differentiated towards a CXCR3+CCR6− Th1 phenotype [36]. Here, CD4 is linked to interstitial lung disease.
