NTRK1 and neoplasm: The highly selective TRK inhibitors entrectinib and larotrectinib have been approved independent of the underlying tumor histology for patients with NTRK gene fusion-positive cancer in 2018 and 2019, respectively, based on phase 1/2 clinical trials (Doebele et al. 2020; Drilon et al. 2018; Hong et al. 2020).
