GPT and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: Another interesting question arises from our research: it is known that n-3 PUFA can ameliorate NAFLD, ALT and AST levels (236–239), but here we have found a positive correlation of 20:5n-3 with the ALT/AST ratio, as an indicator of liver steatosis, even after controlling for all possible confounders (including dietary n-3 PUFA intakes and n-3 PUFA supplements usage), or after excluding the subjects with n-3 PUFA supplementation.
