Relaxin-2 can suppress chronic kidney disease. Recent studies have shown that the insulin-related endogenous peptide hormone relaxin-2 can alleviate CKD through regulating cell signalling pathways via cognate G protein-coupled receptor, relaxin family peptide receptor-1 [RXFP1] [2] and the glucocorticoid receptor [3]. This evidence concerns the gene RXFP1 and chronic kidney disease.
