A higher ratio of cytoplasmic to nuclear SYNPO2 in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has been linked to an increased likelihood of recurrence, and CaN-induced nuclear-cytoplasmic shuttling of SYNPO2, facilitating the metastasis of HCC by promoting the assembly of peripheral actin bundles [6]. This evidence concerns the gene SYNPO2 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
