Conversely, pre- and co-treatment of ISO-injected rats with 5 or 10 mg/kg body weight of SCA showed significant upregulation in gene expressions of PI3K, Akt, Nrf2, Nqo-1, and Ho-1, as well as significant downregulation in Keap1 gene expression in cardiac tissue compared to rats treated with ISO alone. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxia.
