To answer this question, we used video-EEG/EMG recordings of two AD mouse models: (1) conditional deletion of Bace1 in 5xFAD mice in the adult stage and comparing Bace1fl/fl/5xFAD with Bace1fl/fl/UbcCreER/5xFAD mice; and (2) 5xFAD and APP KI mice treated with and without the BACE1 inhibitor AZD3293 (Fig. 1B–E). The gene discussed is BACE1; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
