Their interpretation has been questioned in subsequent years, since conflicting evidence about the prognostic role of CD7 emerged: Satoh et al. and Veltroni et al. confirmed the poor prognosis linked to CD7 expression [30, 31], whereas Font et al., analyzing CD34 myeloid cells from 55 bone marrows of patients with MDS, did not detect nor its prevalent expression in higher-risk MDS, neither an association with IPSS or clinical outcome [32, 33].
