At 23-h of bacteremia, there was also an increase in the plasma concentrations of the anti-inflammatory cytokine, IL-10, in both the sham (from 0.44 ± 0.17 to 1.72 ± 0.51 ng/mL, P = 0.014) and splanchnic-denervated groups (from 0.50 ± 0.14 to 1.56 ± 0.36 ng/mL, P = 0.033) (Fig. 3D). Here, IL10 is linked to bacterial infectious disease with sepsis.
