Our findings of correlation between high expression of CDKN2A and poor prognosis in HCC further evidenced the antitumor effect of cuproptosis, a distinct form of cell death dependent on intracellular copper accumulation, where FDX1 and protein lipoylation serve as the hub regulators and CDKN2A serve as a negative regulator (Tsvetkov et al., 2022). This evidence concerns the gene CDKN2A and hepatocellular carcinoma.
