The gestational age at HCC diagnosis was different in women with symptoms (17/63) and in asymptomatic women (46/63), with higher prevalence of women without symptoms and with high AFP serum levels receiving diagnosis between 10 and 19 weeks (9/17; 53%), and a higher prevalence of women with symptoms (especially abdominal pain) receiving diagnosis in the second and third trimesters (32/46; 69%). This evidence concerns the gene AFP and hepatocellular carcinoma.
