When examining cause-specific mortality, higher UMOD was associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular death (adjusted HR per two-fold higher concentration 0.87, 95% CI, 0.77 to 0.99), and higher MCP-1 was associated with higher risk of cancer death (HR per two-fold higher concentration 1.52, 95% CI, 1.05 to 2.18). The gene discussed is CCL2; the disease is cancer.
