To study the role of the cGAS–STING pathway in age-related phenotypes, we first tested whether acute inhibition of STING by the selective and well-tolerated small-molecular inhibitor H-151 (ref. 9) can suppress the inflammatory response of senescent cells, a paradigm in vitro model for studying age-related inflammation10 (Extended Data Fig. 1).
