CDH2 and hepatocellular carcinoma: Figure 8 summarizes our research, which shows that HBx protein can promote E2F1 expression, leading to the activation of FoxP3 expression. As a result, FoxP3 functions as a transcription factor by inhibiting the expression of miR-187-5p through its binding with the promoter of miR-187-5p. Meanwhile, miR-187-5p can bind to the 3′UTR of CDH2, inhibiting its expression and ultimately inhibiting the proliferation, migration and invasion of the hepatocellular carcinoma Huh-7 cell line (as seen in Figure 8).
