Although bone marrow MSCs (BM-MSCs) from multiple myeloma (MM) can significantly protect MM cells from lysis by lower affinity, moderately lytic BCMA-, CD38-, and CD138-specific CAR-T cells only in a cell-to-cell contact-dependent manner, MM cells can be killed by high-affinity, strongly lytic BCMA- and CD38-CAR-T cells [124].
