To elucidate the physiological role of p300 in lung epithelial cells during the development of pulmonary fibrosis, we generated genetically engineered mouse models with tamoxifen-inducible p300 knockout in ATII cells (Spc-p300d/d), club cells (Ccsp-p300d/d), or ciliated cells (Foxj1-p300d/d). The gene discussed is EP300; the disease is pulmonary fibrosis.
