The American Society of Clinical Oncology has recently recommended offering germline testing for women with epithelial ovarian cancer regardless of clinical features or family history.30 Germline testing of MMR genes is only recommended for patients with endometrial cancer whose tumors are MMR deficient or MSI-H, who have a family history of Lynch syndrome–related cancer, or who possess significant clinical characteristics for Lynch syndrome.31 Patients with cervical cancer are not referred for germline testing in the clinic. The gene discussed is MRC1; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
