Many serological and urinary biomarkers have been studied longtime ago and showed correlation with different histological findings of lupus nephritis [4], for example, but not limited to, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) [6], TNF-like weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) [7], neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) [6], and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM) [6, 8]. The gene discussed is LCN2; the disease is lupus nephritis.
