GPT and coinfection: Considering only PLWH with hepatic coinfections, those with detectable HCV-RNA (n = 50) had higher AST (46 vs. 23, p < 0.0001) and ALT (52 vs. 26, p < 0.0001) baseline levels than those with undetectable HCV-RNA (n = 84), but mean changes from baseline were not significantly different (AST: 1 IU/dl, 95% CI −7, 9 and 1 IU/dl, 95% CI −1, 4; ALT: 0 IU/dL, 95% CI −11, 12, and 4 IU/dL, 95% CI −1, 9, respectively), although these finding might have been due to the small sample size.
