These results suggest that the herbal tea mixture may reduce fat accumulation and weight gain by suppressing the mRNA expression levels of genes that are involved, to a great extent, in fatty acid and triglyceride synthesis, increasing the expression of genes that have anti-obesity effects and a reduction in fat mass, possibly contributing to the lowered TNFα levels because of the decreased inflammation that happens secondary to obesity and the subsequent decrease in oxidative stress.
