For the validation of RNA-seq results, using the RT-qPCR method, we chose to focus on five genes (OLIG2, CHI3L1, TIMP3, TNFAIP2 and TNFAIP6) that were of high interest in GBMs as indicated in the literature and involved in proliferation, stemness and invasion since these functions are of the utmost importance in GBM biology and were reduced after neuraminidase administration. This evidence concerns the gene OLIG2 and glioblastoma.
