In rats with drug-induced arthritis, the oral administration of NOR regulates the balance between Th17 and regulatory T-cells in the intestinal lymph nodes [11], inhibits the pleiotropic cytokine interleukin-6 (IL-6) in fibroblast-like synoviocytes [12], and promotes the Notch1 pathway in endothelial cells to prevent synovial angiogenesis [13], displaying an anti-rheumatoid arthritis (RA) property. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and arthritic joint disease.
