VEGFB and coronary artery disorder: Given that VEGF-B is synthesized in the myocardium, myocytes and endothelium of the coronary arteries, pancreas, lungs, kidneys, gallbladder and adipose tissue [27,28], a decrease in VEGF-B concentration in the coronary circulation of CHD patients without cardiomyopathy may be associated with its increased consumption in the myocardium (Table 2).
