HMGCR and Alzheimer disease: Initially, IVW suggested four genetically determined medication-taking traits were associated with AD, including antihypertensives (nSNP = 2, OR = 0.809, 95% CI = 0.668–0.981, p = 0.031), thyroid preparations (nSNP = 93, OR = 0.960, 95% CI = 0.924–0.998, p = 0.040), immunosuppressants (nSNP = 4, OR = 0.879, 95% CI = 0.789–0.979, p = 0.018), and HMG CoA reductase inhibitors (nSNP = 65, OR = 1.269, 95% CI = 1.028–1.567, p = 0.027).
