LncRNAs associated with the progression and intervention of atherosclerosis (RAPIA) and smooth-muscle-induced lncRNA (SMILR) also inhibit apoptosis and enhance atherosclerosis by regulating cellular receptor integrin beta 1 (ITGB1) and a transcription factor, Krueppel-like factor 5 (KLF5), respectively [62,63].
