As a matter of fact, CCS can be genetically differentiated from melanoma due to some peculiarities, including (i) the typical reciprocal translocation t(12;22) (q13;q12) that gives rise to the EWSR1-ATF1 oncogene and (ii) the absence of BRAF/NRAS mutations that can often characterize melanoma [4].
