Furthermore, the multivariate logistic analysis showed that high leptin level was an independent predictor for significant weight gain (aOR = 2.29; 95%CI, 1.15–7.84; and p = 0.03) and new-onset obesity (aOR = 6.64; 95%CI, 1.60–36.76; and p = 0.016), which indicates that high plasma leptin fails to inhibit further weight gain in patients with CP. Here, LEP is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
