Similarly, cerebellin 2 (CBLN2), a gene found to be involved in synaptogenesis induced by neurexin–neuroligin signaling [27], and synaptotagmin-2 (SYT2), a gene functioning as a Ca2+ sensor for fast neurotransmitter release, are both delayed in DS, suggesting delayed synaptogenesis in the DS. The gene discussed is CBLN2; the disease is Dravet syndrome.
