The assessment of other factors, for example, anti-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-4 and IL-13, as well as some pro-inflammatory cytokines like IFN-γ and TNFα, which have been linked to other orofacial cleft tissues, could possibly provide additional information about the inflammatory mechanisms in cleft palate and reveal some correlations with our results [26,92]. This evidence concerns the gene IL4 and orofacial cleft.
