The aim of the current study was to investigate, in an animal model with tamoxifen-induced reduced levels of Tie2 in arterioles in kidneys and capillaries in lungs, whether this lower Tie2 expression was accompanied by an altered expression of Tie2 and adhesion molecules E-selectin and VCAM-1 in the acute phase of endotoxemia. Here, VCAM1 is linked to serum lipopolysaccharide activity.
