HMGB1 release and pathological effects of extracellular HMGB1 have also been demonstrated in many other types of liver diseases including alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases, liver injury caused by 3,5-diethoxycarbonyl-1,4-dihydrocollidine(DDC) diet or Choline-deficient, Ethionine-supplemented (CDE) diet, and liver cancers caused by carcinogens [3, 4, 6]. The gene discussed is HMGB1; the disease is liver disorder.
