Hence, SorCS2 plays important roles in formation, maintenance, and function of neuronal circuits (9, 10, 11, 12), and findings which are further substantiated by genetic associations of SorCS2 with a number of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and alcohol withdrawal symptoms (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18). Here, SORCS2 is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
