EDN1 and ischemia: Hyperperfusion is the result of a number of interrelated factors: impaired metabolism of vasodilators (nitric oxide—NO and prostacyclin), an increase in the level of vasoconstrictors (endothelin-1 and noradrenaline), a decrease in the production of anticoagulants by the endothelium with the formation of microthrombi, cerebral edema at the stage of ischemia because of hemostasis, and an increase in blood–brain barrier permeability.
