SOD1 and ischemia: A similar time course of the PBN adducts was also observed by other investigators[28–29,31], in which the hearts were perfused with the perfusion solution containing catalase, SOD, or deferoxamine before ischemia and after ischemia with allopurinol administered orally; SOD or deferoxamine partially decreased but not abolished the increase of the PBN adduct levels.
