Some mechanisms for viral cells invasion have been hypothesized, such as the role of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptors, scavengers receptor B type 1 (SR-B1) and other cellular wall receptors that allow the entry of the virus into the endothelial cells, thus determining endothelial dysfunction and endothelialitis. This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and endothelial dysfunction.
