ALB and diabetes mellitus: Phosphorus in quartile 1 (QI) < 3.6 mg/dL (HR: 1.89; 95% CI; 1.05–3.4, p < 0.032) as a risk, older age (HR: 1.05, 95% CI; 1.02–1.07, p < 0.001) and low albumin concentrations (HR: 0.42; 95% CI 0.28–0.64, p < 0.001), as a protector, were associated with elevated all-cause mortality risk, while Q2–Q3 (3.5–5.2 mg/dL), calcium and diabetes had no effect.
