Besides cancer, in other diseases such as autoimmune diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, there are also some identified undruggable targets, and these identified targets are of great interest e.g., STAT3, lymphoid-specific tyrosine phosphatase, tau, alpha-synuclein, etc. Even though autoimmune diseases are considered rare compared to cancer, there are nearly 100 different autoimmune diseases that affect an additional 3% of the population5.
