Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) has been found to be a pathway by which SARS-CoV-2 enters cells, and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACE1) and angiotensin II receptor antagonist (ARB) are mainly used to treat cardiovascular disease and hypertension, which may lead to increased ACE2 expression and promote SARS-CoV-2 infection in hypertensive patients [33]. This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and hypertensive disorder.
