Filaggrin mutations may increase susceptibility to hand eczema that is characterized by both ACD and ICD.9 However, loss of function (LoF) FLG gene do not seem to be associated with hand eczema in adults without AD though these mutations may predict early onset of hand eczema in patients with AD.10, -12 Chronic hand eczema is defined as a dermatitis that has lasted more than 3 months or relapses at least twice per year.13 This evidence concerns the gene FLG and Alzheimer disease.
