Consistent with the association of depression, levels of hippurate (β = −0.09, P-value = 0), alpha-aminocaprylic acid (β = −0.08, P-value = 2.5 × 10−12), lysophosphatidic acid (β= −0.15, P-value = 0) and 4-hydroxycoumarin (β = −0.09, P-value = 3.3 × 10−16) were all significantly associated with reduced levels of CRP (Supplementary Table 8). Here, CRP is linked to major depressive disorder.
