PSEN1 and PSEN2 genes, which are involved in the processing of amyloid precursor protein, have been linked to autosomal dominant early‐onset AD (Lanoiselee et al., 2017), and the MAPT gene, which codes for a protein involved in the stabilization of microtubules in neurons, has been associated with several neurodegenerative diseases, including AD, frontotemporal dementia, and PD (Allen et al., 2014; Strang et al., 2019). Here, PSEN1 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
