Following up on our previous study where mutations in CYP46A1—coding for an enzyme responsible for converting cholesterol into 24S‐hydroxycholesterol—and functionally related genes were weakly associated with poor survival of BC patients [15], we discovered that these same patients have multiple oxysterol‐related genes upregulated as well, namely EBP, PPARGC1B, and DHCR7. Here, EBP is linked to breast cancer.
