Furthermore, there was a significant increase in the production of CD11c (Fig. 2a) and CD86 (Fig. 2b) in LPS/OVA + OVA-treated female obese mice as compared with LPS/OVA + OVA-treated female lean mice, while LPS/OVA + OVA-treated female obese and lean mice did not differ significantly in the production of CD206 (Fig. 2c), indicating that M1 macrophage polarization was elevated in BALF from female mice with obesity-related neutrophilic airway inflammation.
