MIF and multiple sclerosis: It is important to highlight that short repetitions of this polymorphism (like the 6,6 genotype) are associated with a less MIF expression (Llamas‐Covarrubias et al., 2013) and this could have an impact on several pathologies such as multiple sclerosis (Castañeda‐Moreno et al., 2018) or basal cell carcinoma (Guevara‐Gutiérrez et al., 2021).
