The details of whether Rac1 participates in the emergence of invadopodia at the early stage are still unclear (Rivier et al., 2021), but our time-lapse imaging data may suggest that Rac1 mediates invadopodia emergence and FilGAP inactivates Rac1 at this stage, resulting in suppression of invadopodia formation in breast cancer cells. The gene discussed is ARHGAP24; the disease is breast cancer.
