Latent membrane protein 1 (LMP1), an Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) latent gene, promotes the formation of dimers of c-Jun/JunB, which regulate the expression of p16 and cyclin D1 to affect the cell cycle, contributing to cell dysplasia and tumorigenesis in NPC [40]. Here, JUN is linked to nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
