CXCR2 and ulcerative colitis: The chemokine receptor CXCR2 isbroadly expressed in a range ofleukocytes, most notably in polymorphonuclear (PMN) cells, and isimplicated in neutrophil trafficking and recruitment.12 CXCR2-mediated signaling is associated with the pathogenesisof various diseases, including inflammatory diseases affecting thelungs such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthmabronchiale, other inflammatory diseases like ulcerative colitis andpsoriasis, and also cancer, thus making CXCR2 a promising target forpharmaceutical intervention.
