P2RY1 and ischemia: Prominent among these Gαq-type GPCRs are muscarinic acetylcholine receptors (M3 mAChR) [43]; P2Y1 purinergic receptors activated by ischemia-induced ATP release [44, 45]; protease-activated receptors (PAR1, PAR4) activated by thrombin [46–49]; and the endothelin receptor (ETB) [50, 51], all of which are implicated in stoke pathology.
